The Commissar of Education of Vladimir issued the following order …

“With a view to doing away with barrack discipline and spirit in the schools, the following school regulations are abolished:

  • to stand for recitation
  • to assign lessons for home work
  • to memorize
  • to make curtsies to teachers. The pupils also have the right to talk back to the teachers.”
