Aleksandr Medvedkin: The New Moscow (1938)

Description: The Stalin Plan for rebuilding Moscow. Conceived as a light satire by Medvedkin, The New Moscow  was never released to Soviet viewers. Although its purpose was to show the grandeur of the new Moscow, it served also as a merry requiem to the old. Here, the young inventor Alesha shows a living model of the new Moscow, not without an inadvertent detour into the past.
