In Memory of Pasternak (1968)

Aleksandr Galich. Performed by the author
Description: This mournful song in memory of Pasternak, which castigated the hypocrisy of the literary establishment that let the great poet’s death pass almost unremarked, first gained wide underground circulation in the aftermath of the 1968 invasion of Czechoslovakia. It brought about the start of official censure of Galich that would continue until his emigration in 1974.
