Description: The Il’ich Gate (released in censored form as I Am Twenty) was the lyrical story of the generation that came of age after the XX Party Congress. This clip features a live poetry reading in Moscow’s Polytechnical Museum by renowned poets of that generation: Evgenii Evtushenko, Andrei Voznesenskii, Robert Rozhdestvenskii, and Bella Akhmadulina. The earnest recitations and the ecstatic response of the audience embody the high-minded ideals of that time.
