Varsavienne (1871)
Varsavienne/Варшавянка. Music: Włodzimierz Wolski; Russian lyrics: Gleb Krzhizhanovskii
Description: Written in the late 19th century for Polish socialist workers, “Варшавянка” became one of the most powerful revolutionary anthems in the Russian Empire. Its marching rhythm and defiant refrain call listeners to solidarity, sacrifice, and struggle. Sung in strikes and demonstrations, it carried the emotional charge of uprising into the 1905 and 1917 revolutions.
