The Ukrainian Socialist Soviet Republic

These Civil War posters proclaim the benefits that the Soviet system will bring to Ukraine. They invite Ukrainians to welcome the Red Army, which was fighting a bewildering variety of opponents on their land, and excoriate Ukrainians forces at war against them. The posters even include a missive directed at the Ukrainian peasant, explaining the land and agricultural policies of the new regime; but the poster is, inexplicably, in Russian. The Bolsheviks would soon learn not to repeat such gaffes in national relations.
