Eisenstein: The July Days (1928)
Sergei Eizenshtein. Asst. Director Grigorii Aleksandrov
Description: In this scene from Eisenstein's epic October, filmed for the tenth anniversary of the October Revolution, demonstrators scatter as they are fired upon from the rooftops during the July Days. Although the event was not actually filmed, Eisenstein's version is faithful to the event as recorded in photos, which cannot be said of other parts of the film.
