The Good Life in Moscow

The mid-1930s saw the chaos and violence of the cultural revolution die down, and Muscovites, at least those with access to consumer goods, could enjoy the good things in life without fear of being labeled “bourgeois.” High style, particularly amongst the “cultural intelligentsia,” was very much in fashion.
