Description: BLOKADA is a documentary made with silent footage from the years 1941-1944. This clip shows Soviet citizens trudging through the bridges and streets of Leningrad and boarding the train that will transport them to Soviet-held territory on the opposite shore of Lake Ladoga. 1.3 million citizens were evacuated from Leningrad along this 'Road of Life,' mostly by foot.
